Bad Weather Arrangements

As most of you will have noticed we endeavour to maintain our service throughout any adverse weather conditions. I would only close nursery if staff were unable to get in or conditions meant I had to let them leave early. In those rare circumstances I would inform parents and would also ask for you to be aware of any changing conditions.

Staff Developments

I am sure most of you have noticed that Becki is due to have her first baby in a few months and she will be leaving us temporarily at the beginning of April. Nadia will be taking over her role in the baby unit and the toddler unit will be managed by myself and Amy until she returns in the New Year.

Jean is returning from a period of illness and will be working in the main building extending her knowledge in both units. Keeley will be covering in the baby unit as required until April, then full time moving forwards. We have been phasing this in while Jean has been away to ensure consistency for all the children. We will keep parents informed as any changes occur and as always the needs of your children are our priority.

We had to cancel our November meeting due to lack of interest, please let me know if you fancy getting together with other parents and extending your knowledge of our setting and the Early Years in general.

Karen and her kitchen!!!

In the Autumn term yet again we obtained a food hygiene rating of 5 and the eatwell award for promoting healthy choices, both from Wakefield Council. Thank you Karen for your hard work and delicious menus. 5 staff have recently updated their food hygiene which is renewed by all staff every 3 years.

Comic Relief: Friday 15th March

rednoseday-whiteIn support of ‘Red Nose Day’ we will be trying to emulate the ‘Comic Relief Bake Off’ by encouraging the children to take part in lots of baking activities throughout the week. We will then hold a ‘Comic Relief Coffee morning’ open to all parents, please see the website for details in the coming weeks.

Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers

We have started collecting again and we have a few things in mind for this year so please donate.

Sickness: In light of the winter ‘bugs’ being passed around, please remember our 24 hour policy. Children should be away from nursery for 24 hours following the last bout of sickness and/or diarrhoea. It is also policy to have 24 hours at home following the first dose of any antibiotics or prescribed medication. Would you also please let us know of any absence from nursery either by telephone or e mail.

Security: Please let staff know if anyone different will be collecting children form nursery and if necessary arrange to set up a password.
