As most of you will have noticed, Jodie and Nicole have decided not to return following their maternity leave and I wish them lots of luck in the future. I have recruited a new member of staff to work with Amy and Nadia in pre-school; Sammi has a wealth of experiences and has just returned from working in Canada for 2 years. Olivia has been promoted to Head of Toddler Unit and Becki is returning to Head of Baby unit. She will also be assisting in Pre-school in her role as SENCO.
As part of our on going improvement programme I am hoping to install a smart board system in the Pre-School unit. I will ensure disruption is kept to a minimum but I am sure it will be a valuable addition to the learning environment.
We had another amazing day (the weather helped) and we raised a massive £825 for Martin House children’s hospice. Thank you again to all staff and parents for making it possible.
We will be collecting non perishable food items again for the Salvation Army to distribute to local food banks. This is also a great opportunity to encourage the children in their learning understanding of the wider community. Thank you in anticipation of your generosity.
We usually maintain normal opening hours regardless of the weather, but please ensure all contact details are up to date in case of emergencies.
Photography 31.10.18 & 01.11.18
Strawberry Shortcake Photography will be in nursery on Wednesday and Thursday w/c 29.10.18. All children will have photographs taken. If children do not attend these days please give me a call to arrange an appointment.
Parents’ Evening 06.12.18, 7-9 pm
Please join us for mulled wine and minced pies and an opportunity to catch up with staff and discuss your children. We do not have appointment slots just let us know nearer the time if you are able to join us.
Pre-School Nativity 13.12.18, 10 am
All the children in pre-school play a part and we will let you know the arrangements nearer the time. Due to limited space we can only accommodate 2 family members per child but we do have a video for you to keep. Pre-school children are also all invited along to a Christmas party on 21.12.18, 2.30-4 pm.
We will close on Christmas Eve 24.12.18 at 1 pm. All children normally attending that afternoon will be reimbursed for the half day. We will re-open on Wednesday 02.01.19. Fees already reflect the closure as standing order payments are calculated over 51 weeks not 52.
We try our best to be vigilant and report all incidents which occur on nursery premises. However very occasionally we may miss something which has happened during nursery hours. If this is ever the case please could you report to Marie, either via email or telephone, the nature of the injury. This avoids any confusion when the child return to nursery.
It is really important that parents communicate any messages to staff members in the morning. Please would you ensure that children are brought into either the unit or dining room and handed over to a member of staff.
Clothing: Please could we have named wellies and warm outer clothing for winter.
Security: Please do not let any other parents or members of the public into nursery as you are leaving and please ensure the door is firmly closed behind you.
Medication: We are happy to administer prescribed medication providing children have had 24 hours at home before returning. Also all medication needs to be in the original container with name, date and dose visible.
