We hope everyone had a lovely summer, the weather was really kind to us and our trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park was fantastic… Karen’s countdown has started, it’s officially only 12 weeks to Christmas!!!

Staff Developments

As you all know we have said goodbye to Denise who has left to pursue a career in Social Care, we all wish her well and will miss her. Becki will be returning to work in early January and hopefully Helen will remain in the toddler unit to maintain continuity and consistency for the children.


salvation-army-logoWe have been collecting donations of none perishable food items to be distributed by the Salvation Army to local food banks and similar. Thank you very much for those who have already donated, they will be collected on Monday 07.10.13, so please feel free to contribute up until then.

A Wild Day Out!

main-yorkshire-wildlife-park-2013-01On Saturday 7th September College Grove Nursery staff, children and parents enjoyed a fun-filled day out at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster. The children were very excited to travel on a double decker bus and Karen got to see her beloved tigers!

Parents Evening Thursday 05.12.13

We will follow a similar format as in previous evenings with mince pies and mulled wine. We will confirm attendance with you all nearer the time.

Christmas Arrangements

Pre-school will be staging their own nativity performance for family and friends on Tuesday 17.12.13 at 10.00 a.m. – all children will be taking part. The Christmas parties will be held on Friday 20.12.13, all children in pre-school are invited to attend from 2.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m., toddlers and babies have their own little party for children attending on that day.

Nursery will close at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday 24.12.13 and re-open at 07.30 a.m. on Thursday 02.01.14. The Christmas holiday is accounted for in normal fees as we only charge for 51 weeks of the year not 52. Any children who normally attend nursery on the Tuesday afternoon will be refunded by £20 (half of the daily rate).


The photographer will be in nursery on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd October, if your child is not normally in on either day please let me know and I can arrange a suitable time for you to come in.

  • Accidents occurring away from nursery: Please could you remember to inform staff when you drop your children off, of any injuries which have been sustained away from nursery. This helps to avoid any issues regarding existing marks, bruises etc.
  • Coats & Wellies: It’s really helpful to have named wellies and coats in nursery please for out door play in the winter months.
  • Contact details: Would you please inform us of any changes of address or contact details, in case of an emergency.
  • Website: If you haven’t already done it would you please log on to ensure you receive all nursery news electronically. As it is constantly updated with news and events, would you please let me know of any objections to the use of photographs on the site and I will up date the enrolment form accordingly.
