Staff Developments

Unfortunately Kate has decided not to return to the baby unit following the birth of Hattie. She will be missed but we all wish her every success in her future plans. At present Becki will continue in her role as head of both baby and toddler unit, Lisa will assist in this role in the main building.

Nadia will be returning from Pakistan in November and will resume her role in the baby unit. Charlotte gained her level 2 qualification in the Summer and is continuing her apprenticeship to gain her Level 3 next year. Charlotte is still with us in a training capacity and will continue to be monitored until she completes her studies.

Fun Day Success!

Thank you so much to all who attended our Fun Day in July – and also to everyone involved behind the scenes who helped to make it possible. I am proud to announce that the event managed to raise a total of £586.76 for Martin House Children’s Hospice – well done! See Fun Day photos on our website by clicking here.

Parents Forum 07.11.12 at 6.15 p.m.

I would really like to reinstate our regular meetings and have organised for us to meet on Wednesday 7th November at 6.15 p.m. Please let me know if you can make it and the topics you would like to discuss. For those who have not attended it is a great opportunity to become more familiar with Nursery and meet other parents.

EYFS Reforms

The curriculum for early years has been reformed and while it has no immediate effect on the way we will continue to care for your children, it does have an effect on how we plan and assess and record. I would like to discuss this at parents forum and I am always on hand should you have any questions.

New Website

I hope you are now all familiar with the new website… Please sign up for the newsletter and help us to keep our contact database current:

Parents Evening 06.12.12 7-9 p.m.

We will follow the usual informal approach but please do let us know if you can attend. For all new parents it is a great opportunity to see nursery and chat to staff.

Christmas Arrangements

We will be closing nursery at lunch time on Christmas Eve and re opening on Wednesday 02.01.13. Children who normally attend all day Monday will be given a refund for the half day.

The Christmas party and nativity is for all children in pre-school and details will follow nearer the time.

Security: Please do not leave the main door open for other parents entering the building. Close the door behind you and ask them to ring again. I apologise if some parents/carers are not always familiar to all staff in the main building. In order to adhere to strict safeguarding guidelines, no one will be allowed into the building unless identified by a member of staff. Again I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety of the children is paramount.
Clothing: Winter again, please could we have warm coats and wellies.
