Goodbye Spring, Hello Summer…
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter break (not too much chocolate). You’ll be happy to know that our chicks are thriving at a friend’s farm and we are looking forward to some eggs some time soon.

The pre-school room has been completely redecorated, hopefully everyone is happy with the end result and the toddler unit should be completed next month. Over the summer months we will be concentrating on the outdoor environment, planting and building up the resources; any suggestions/contributions are always appreciated.
Due to increasing numbers over the last few months we have welcomed 2 new members of staff. Olivia has joined our pre-school unit on a permanent basis, she has a wide range of experiences and is an asset to Amy and her team. Abi will be working with the toddler unit on a temporary basis initially until September. Charlotte has transferred over to the baby unit to maintain consistency and continuity for the children. If you have any questions regarding any of these changes, please do not hesitate to ask, we always try to ensure the least disruption for the children. Jodie, Jodie and Beth will all complete their Early Years Degrees this summer, well done girls!!
We have started French taster sessions with children in the pre-school unit. Kerry-Ann will be delivering half hour sessions on a Wednesday afternoon during term time. So far the children have been counting and learning colours and fruits. They are all thoroughly enjoying it.
Annual Charity Fun Day Saturday 16.07.16, 11-2 pm
This will be our 7th Charity Fun Day, for those of you new to our setting it’s a fabulous day, raising lots of money for our chosen charity ‘Martin House Children’s Hospice’. As always we will have face painting, bouncy castle and lot’s more. Karen will be providing refreshments so please support us and bring family and friends along too.
Parents’ Evening Thursday 07.07.16, 7-9 pm
This is a really informal evening giving you the opportunity to chat to staff and share information about your children. We do not make appointments so please just call in at some point in the evening, staff will check for numbers nearer the time.
We had lots of positive feedback from you all with one or two valid suggestions. The main one was the possibility of passing information on via text messages etc. It is something I have taken on board and am in the process of looking into, however for the moment can I sign post all parents to our up to date website which has all dates, newsletters and other relevant information.
I am also in the process of putting together an up to date mail database to enable me to e mail invoices etc. to parents to become paperless and more environmentally friendly. Each unit will ask all parents to let us have their current email address and hopefully from June we will be able to have paperless invoicing.
- Sun cream: Please could all children have their own named hats and sun cream in nursery.
- Security: Could we please ensure all doors are firmly closed when leaving the building and that no-one is allowed to enter without a member of staff identifying them.
- Fees: If you haven’t already done so, please could you check your standing order payment has been amended.
- Holidays: Please could you let us know in advance if your child is going to be absent from nursery.
