Learning and Development

It is our aim to give each unique child the opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments.

Within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum our highly qualified and motivated staff provide a variety of activities covering the 3 prime and 4 specific areas of learning.

The observation, assessment and planning cycle for each unit is carried out in accordance with the EYFS and the ‘key worker’ is responsible for ensuring that all activities are planned to meet the individual needs of all the children. It is our aim to give each unique child the opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments.

Our nursery is separated into three main units, babies, toddlers and pre-school. Each one is led by a senior member of staff holding an appropriate level of qualification. They are responsible for the overall operation of each area and work with a team who are consistent to the same unit.

Staffing ratios for all under 3’s are 1 carer:3 children (compulsory ratio for 2-3 years is 1:4) and over 3’s have a ratio of 1 carer:6 children (compulsory ratio for this group is 1:8). Where new staff are introduced to a unit, they will undergo a carefully planned induction programme, including all aspects of our procedures and policies.
